Synergy

There's something about living in, and depending on, a vehicle. Or even driving a vehicle you built. There's a synergy where you intimately know each and every vibration, squeak, rattle of the vehicle and what it is. Like a child or an animal, you sense the minutiae that idicates when something is off or not well. When the harmony of the systems fluctuates... you immediately turn the stereo down, everything fades away, and you listen. At that point you have razor focus! You say "what's that?" And you listen... you feel the vibrations of the suspension and the engine through the gas pedal and your seat and evaluate what's different... You care, because everything is literally riding on it. That's why it's always good to give the vehicle a pep talk, an affirmation, or a pat on the dash, and a "good job buddy" when you've just been through some gnarly shit....
